Monday Blahs

April 7, 2008

Yup, I’ve got ‘em! I do not like Mondays, they are long, tiring, no-fun days. There, I said it… no more complaining now. I had a quick breakfast on my way out this morning: plain yogurt topped with almond cereal and about a quarter of an avocado.

You think I forgot a picture right? Nope, but my camera decided to die this morning so I used this old pic. I’ll work on it for lunch!

I’m also planning on gettina a café au lait once I get to school to “help me” with my morning!

Wow, that’s an odd breakfast!

April 5, 2008

Since I’ve been invited out to brunch, I had to change my food plans for today. Originally I was going to have cereal or some other “regular” breakfast food this morning but then I started to think…

1 – I’m going to have more breakfast foods at lunchtime (it’s a late brunch!) Now, normally I love breakfast foods (crêpes, maple syrup, croissants… drool…) but I just didnèt feel like boring cereal when all those good foods are being served later.

2 – I found leftovers in the fridge and I hate to waste food!

With this in mind, I had some leftover black rice with mexican seasonings and about 1/3 of an avocado. Definitely not your average breakfast food!

It’s hard to tell from the photo but this isn’t a huge portion of rice, abour 3/4 cup or so (1/4 cup dry)

Early morning…

April 3, 2008

I started off my day right today with an early morning swim. It was a nice, relaxing way to get in a bit of aerobic conditioning. Before I left fot the pool, I ate about half of a banana oatmeal pancake. Banana is a great addition to oatmeal pancakes and it makes it seem like such a treat :)

After my swim, I headed off to class, where I ate the rest of my pancake (now cold but still tasty) and some Ezekiel cereal mixed with plain yogurt and a bit of avocado. The cereal got nice and soft and I thought it brought out the almond flavour even more. I guess I’m weird, I don’t like my cereal to be too crunchy usually!

Quick, Quick, Quick

That’s how I will have to move this morning to get to school! It will be a short post this morning. Here’s what I had: Oats soaked overnight in yogurt to make Muesli, topped with high fiber cereal and avocado.
