Peanut Butter Almond Goodness

April 22, 2008

Breakfast was amazing this morning! First, I made some creamy oatbran using almond milk. I am a milk lover but almond milk is a delicious change in my oats. I then added a spoonful of natural peanut butter and Voila! A super quick, super easy, super yummy breakfast

It’s almost too warm out for a hot breakfast now. I always feel like it warms me up from the inside out and now I am too hot! I shouldn’t complain though – although the sun is out right now, they’re calling for rain later. Sounds chilly!

With a cup of white tea:

Haha, I always have to do a top view when I include tea because my mug is huge! It holds almost two cups – I measured it out once.

See you for my evening review

Something different

April 13, 2008

Sorry for the late breakfast post, I slept in again this morning. I didn’t get as much studying done yesterday as I’d hoped, so I was reading my notes in bed last night and lost track of time. I’m still taking advantage of the lazy weekend morning today and made some Apple Pie Oatbran.

This was tasty and filled the desire for something other than bananas, but it was missing a little something. I’m not sure what, but I think it just wasn’t sweet enough to taste like pie. If I wasn’t trying to make it taste like apple pie I would have thought it was really good though! I don’t think I’ve ever had pie with icing before though, so maybe it wasn’t pie that I was craving after all! Here it is again, with white tea:

Even though it’s not perfected yet, I posted the recipe below and added a link to the recipe section.

Goodnight!

April 2, 2008

Thought I’d do a snack post tonight since my snack was so substantial. Some days I eat 3 meals further apart with small snacks during the day and some days I eat more like 4 meals. I guess today’s a 4 meal day! Here’s a quick photo recap:

My Kashi bar… it was good but not as chewy or nutty as expected. This guy was the peanut peanut butter flavour. Has anyone tried any of the other kinds?

Next up was a carrot asI tried to decide what I really wanted. I was starving tonight!

Finally I decided on a bowl of oatbran cereal made with water for achange since I’ve already had at least 3 servings of milk today. I drizzled on some honey and cinnamon for a bit of flavour.S ee you for breakfast:)

Is it bedtime yet?

March 30, 2008

I am so tired this morning. I’ve been having so much trouble sleeping lately, it was 3AM before I finally got to sleep last night. My alarm went off at 7 to go to the gym but I just rolled over and went back to sleep until 9, when I finally pulled my tired body from bed. I think I could have slept all morning if I wasn’t concerned with sleeping tonight!

Yesterday when I made my breakfast, I made two servings of banana oatbran and stuck the other in the fridge, so this morning I just popped that in the microwave with a splash of milk. I sprinkled a few (5 grams) toasted peanuts on top to add a bit of fat and hopefully hold me over a bit longer. Sorry, I took the photo before I decided on the nuts!

I’m going to try to get in a good hard workout today to tire me out for tonight, think it will help? I’m pretty sure my lack of sleep isn’t caused by lack of tiredness but I’m at the point where I’m getting desperate! I would never take anything to help me sleep though, not even herbal.

Let the repeats begin…

March 29, 2008

As promised, I had a bedtime snack of yogurt and high fiber cereal last night. I didn’t bother with a bowl since it was the bottom of the yogurt container!

Breakfast this morning was, as the title suggests, almost the same as yesterday. Oatbran made with 1 cup of milk, 40 grams of oatbran and 1/2 a banana. I cooked it with the banana this time for a banana bread flavour and I had to save the other half of my only ripe one for tomorrow! On the top, I drizzled a bit of honey just for a slight change in taste!

See you at lunch for some more leftovers!
