In an effort to not post the exact same meal over and over, I tried to change up my leftovers. Today I had leftovers, but I kept the rice and the tomato mixture separate. I also switched out the regular brown rice for a black rice and added some steamed broccoli on the side because it had been forgotten at the back of my fridge and was about to go to waste. Looks like a whole new meal:

Still tastes the same though, which is completely fine with me. It was tasty yesterday so I still like it today
Here’s a close-up view:

This morning, I had a class first thing and then I headed over to the gym. It was really busy so I only did the exercises I couldn’t do at home and I’m planning on doing another mini session tonight “chez moi” that will feature some plyometrics, some biking and some ab work. For now, I think I’ll relax a bit with my homework

Okay, maybe not that fancy, but I got a new plate today and I wanted to show it off
I think that my favourite stores to shop in are ones that sell kitchen items: dishes, pots, pans, gadgets – heaven!
I made “Canajun Rice & Beans” from my Looneyspoons cookbook. It’s a pretty simple mixture of tomatoes, rice, beans, green pepper and spices that you usually see in chili. It’s meant to be a one pot meal, but I cooked my rice separately so that I can have the leftovers in different ways (okay, they will probably still look like rice and tomatoes) Here it is:

And now the attempt at a more artistic closer version:

And since brown rice takes so long to cook, I had a hot cocoa while I was waiting. I was getting pretty hungry but didn’t want to eat since supper was on the stove, so this seemed like a good compromise.

I also had a coupon for free Kashi granola bars, so I picked them up while I was out this afternoon. I can’t wait to try one (I love granola bars!), I’ll probably have one later tonight
